Kingyo Chuuihou! Tobidase! Game Gakuen
Kingyo Chuuihou! Tobidase! Game Gakuen is a 1994 Super Famicom minigame collection from Jaleco, based on the manga and anime Kingyo Chuuihou!, known in English as Goldfish Warning!. Three players pick from a cast that includes the show's girls and, yes, a cow, then compete through a school career split into years and semesters. Each round is a short minigame, from quizzes and falling-block puzzles to shooting stages and races, and the player with the most points at graduation wins.

What Kingyo Chuuihou! Tobidase! Game Gakuen is
Goldfish Warning! follows Chitose, a rich girl who loses her fortune and ends up at a rural school where farm animals are enrolled as students alongside her new friend Wapiko. Jaleco turned that setting into a party game that stayed in Japan and never got an official English release.
The structure imitates three years of school. Each semester serves up a handful of minigames, and points from every event are added to a running total. The variety is the point: Japanese multiple-choice quizzes, puzzle rounds in the style of Puyo Puyo, memory card matching, button-mashing races with jumps, a scrolling shooter, penalty kicks, a beach clean-up and a Bomberman-like round of avoiding bombs all turn up. None of them go very deep, but they change often enough to keep a group busy.
How it plays in your browser
This page runs the original Japanese cartridge through the Snes9x emulator, so there is nothing to install. The game fills empty seats with computer opponents, so you can play through a school year on your own and see how the action minigames stack up.
Because the game is in Japanese, the quiz rounds are the hardest part for non-readers. Most of the other events are easy to figure out after a try or two, since they rely on timing, movement and fast button presses rather than text.
Tips worth knowing
- Watch the first few seconds of each minigame closely; the rules are rarely explained in words you can skim, but the layout usually makes the goal clear.
- In memory card rounds, flip cards in a fixed pattern so you remember positions rather than guessing at random.
- For racing events, keep a steady rhythm on the button and save your attention for the jumps, which cost more time than a slightly slower pace.
- Points carry across the whole school career, so a bad result in one quiz is easy to recover from in the action rounds.
- If you cannot read the quiz questions, answer quickly anyway; a lucky guess still scores and waiting gains you nothing.
