What Tom and Jerry in House Trap is
House Trap takes the one joke Tom and Jerry has been telling since 1940 and turns it into a game structure. You play both sides: as Jerry you are small, fast and fragile, running through a house built at mouse scale; as Tom you are large, clumsy and trying to catch something that fits under a door.
The design follows from that. Jerry's levels are about routes and hiding places, Tom's are about reach and blunt force, and the same rooms read completely differently depending on which of them you are controlling. It is a smarter use of a licence than most cartoon tie-ins of the era managed.

Levels are set across a single house - kitchen, garden, basement, attic - with objectives that fit the cartoon logic: collect the cheese, reach the mousehole, avoid the traps that were obviously set by someone who has never successfully caught a mouse.
